A Sunday school was built at a cost of £ and opened on 16th April A new Chapel was built when the old building became too small for the congregation, and opened on 27th October Birds Royd Lane Wesleyan Mission Church, Rastrick was a Chapel of ease for the Chapel.

The new Sunday School opened in At Bonavista on Tuesday the 5th inst., in great peace James SAINT Esq., J.P., aged 67 years. During the whole of Mr. Saint's life he was connected with and a consistent member of the Wesleyan Church at Bonavista.

He was the principal merchant of the place and his business transactions were characterized by honesty and strict integrity.
